The Regional Chairman, Mr. J.C. Garbrah led a visit to 3 member companies yesterday as part of a series of planned visits to members in the Western/Central Regions of AGI. Takoradi Flour Mill Limited, All Needs Limited and Danest Engineering Company Limited were visited.

The discussions with all three companies were invaluable and added to the number of key issues to address as an Association.

There were recommendations for AGI to set up a tax audit desk to advise and support member companies. Additionally, it was recommended that the Association advocates for an Industry Policy Action Plan to guide operations of industries in the country, capacity building conference, training and qualification of welders for employment, and the retention of testing jobs in the country.

The Regional team assured the companies that the other policy issues relating to 50% benchmark discount reversal, the VAT straight levy regime (2.5% VAT.2,5% GETFUND and Covid levy 1%), and the removal of the 1% Covid 19 levy among other policy issues which AGI is already advocating on will further be advanced.
