29TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF THEAFRICA INDUSTRIALIZATION DAY
Earlier today, the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), in collaboration with UNIDO, observed the 29th anniversary of the Africa Industrialization Day.
The event, which was under the theme: “Promoting regional value chains in Africa: a pathway for accelerating Africa’s structural transformation, industrialization and pharmaceutical production”, was chaired by AGI President, Dr. Yaw Adu-Gyamfi. It also had Mr. Fakhruddin Azizi, UNIDO Representative for Ghana and Liberia, Mr. Gopal Vasu, AGI National Council Member, Mr. Kwadwo Asare Twenefour, MD of Entrance Pharmaceuticals, Dr. Dennis Dwomoh, CEO of Power Touch Ltd, and other industrialists, especially from the Pharmaceuticals sector in attendance.
Africa Industrialization Day is a day set aside by the UN in 1989 to raise awareness on the need for industrialization in Africa. The AGI has been consistent in observing the every year, through round-table discussions on prominent issues affecting industry in the country. This year's focus was the pharmaceutical value chain.
