Under the new set-up, however, whilst the above roles are being deepened, new roles of offering quality consultancy services along business lines has been emphasised. The Directorate has three divisions and the respective functions of the new divisions put in place to facilitate these are:

Policy advocacy and advisory services
This is done through the preparation of well researched policy papers on all aspects of the Ghanaian society, especially on issues that affect the industrial environment and operations of industry in Ghana. These with appropriate recommendations are presented to Government and the Legislature with the view to influencing policy formulation. As part of policy advocacy strategy, the Association networks with various stakeholders including other Business Associations and interest groups. Policy workshops are organized to sensitise members and build consensus on policy positions.

Information gathering, Analysis and Dissemination
AGI does this through the production of various publications including a quarterly newsletter, monthly business information bulletins, and brochures. An internet service including a website has been developed to keep members and other stakeholders informed about business opportunities at home and abroad and promote networking among members.

Media Planning and Events Management
This is carried out through the formation of strategic partnership and networking with the media houses to disseminate issues raised by the Association.
Business Development Centre (BDC)
The Division provides proactive support services to small, medium and large scale industries. It has responsibility to:
- Assist and support Ghanaian companies to analyse, develop and implement viable projects
- Package and deliver services to satisfy the specific needs of our clients;
- Effectively promote the products/services of Ghanaian industries both home and abroad.
